2025-2026 Secondary Registration Timeline

Registration opens for all programs:

October 21, 2024

Note:  Students interested in enrolling in a Specialty Program must apply for Specialty Program admission (application timeline below).

Upon acceptance into a specialty program:

  • YCDSB students will automatically be registered into the school
  • Non-YCDSB students must register for the school.  A unique school registration form will be provided to successful applicants with offer letters on December 20th.   The standard registration form available for submission on October 21st does not apply to specialty program applicants.
Online registration available as of Oct. 21 for:

  • New registrations (non-YCDSB)
  • Transitional (YCDSB gr. 8 to 9) registrations
Open House Events:

Nov. 1 – Nov. 29, 2024

Open House events including specialty programs* (parents/guardians to visit school websites for details and event information links)
Speciality Program Applications accepted:

Dec. 2 – 13, 2024

NOTE:   Application & assessment dates for Father Michael McGivney’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program vary from these dates. Visit the school’s website for information.

Registration Deadline – YCDSB grade 8 students:

Dec. 4, 2024

Grade 9 registrations for YCDSB grade 8 students should be submitted by Dec. 4th for planning purposes.

Note: Registrations will be accepted beyond Dec. 4th (via paper form), however course availability may be impacted.

Specialty Program application assessments

Dec. 13 – 19, 2024

Tests/auditions assessed by Dec. 19th.

Specialty Program offers/acceptances:

  1. Dec. 20, 2024
  2. Jan. 6, 2025
  1. Offers sent electronically to parents/guardians on Dec. 20th  
  2. Applicants accept/decline offers by Jan. 6th
Continual Intake of Registration: January 6 – September, 2025 Continue to process new registrations for both YCDSB and non-YCDSB students 
Grade 9 Course Selection

January 20 – February 7, 2025

  • YCDSB students: To be completed through myBlueprint
  • Non YCDSB students:  Forms emailed to parents/guardians to complete
Registration Deadline – New students (non-specialty program registrants)

March 6, 2025

Registrations for Grade 9 students new to YCDSB should be submitted by March 6th for planning purposes.

Registrations will be accepted beyond March 6th, however course availability may be impacted.

Non-YCDSB Secondary Student registering at their
Admission Criteria (9-12)

Subject to the provisions of the Education Act, all persons having the right of attendance shall be admitted to York Region Catholic secondary schools. Please review  for detailed information.

The parent/guardian must provide the following original documents for each child to be considered for admission:

  • Proof of Age

  • Proof of Status in Canada

  • Proof of Residency – 2 documents required:

    • One document from the following: Property Tax Bill or Home Proof of Purchase or Lease/Rental Agreement, and
    • One document from the following: Utility Bill, Landline phone bill or another acceptable document (driver’s license is not acceptable)
  • If eligible, the parent or guardian shall designate separate school support and/or provide proof of separate school support

  • Commitment to participate through the courts of Ontario (for those students under 18 years of age who are not residing with a parent)

  • Proof of guardianship through the courts of Ontario (for those students under 18 years of age who are not residing with a parent)
