The Board of Trustees of the 91¶ÌÊÓƵapp thanked two of its staff and the Knights of Columbus for their partnership on a new project that will ensure there is a depiction of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in every York Catholic school.
As part of a special presentation at the September 24, 2024, Regular Board Meeting, the Sacred Heart of Jesus was described as a profound image of Christ’s infinite love, compassion and mercy for all people. Cardinal Thomas Collins, Archbishop Emeritus, greatly contributed to the Archdiocese of Toronto’s knowledge of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 2021 when he produced a.
York Catholic teachers Josephine Piensos and Dina Sanci proposed bringing an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to every YCDSB school. David Frattaroli from the Knights of Columbus was instrumental in ensuring the project would be funded with the help of many of York Region’s Knights of Columbus councils.
The York Catholic community will start seeing this image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus appear in schools shortly. This will be an excellent learning opportunity for the York Catholic community to reflect on Christ’s unconditional love for us all.
