YCDSB Volunteer Recognized for Decades of Service
Mrs. Anna Alvarez, a longtime volunteer at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Academy in Vaughan, has been recognized for her decades of service. For 25 years, she has given back to the St. Gregory the Great community as a crossing guard, a lunchtime supervisor and a volunteer.
St. Gregory the Great principal Didi Cammalleri nominated Mrs. Alvarez for the Maple Mazda Legends award, which is bestowed on people who uplift others and give back to the community. That is certainly the case with Mrs. Alverez.
Full-day kindergarten students at the school described her as helpful and funny. Principal Cammalleri noted that some of their parents were likely students at the school when Ms. Alvarez started volunteering in 1999.
鈥淪he loves spending time with all the children and never takes a day off,鈥 said principal Cammalleri. 鈥淎ll the time that she spends here, she does it from the heart. We love Mrs. Alverez, and we鈥檙e so proud of her.鈥
When speaking of St. Gregory the Great, Mrs. Alvarez said, 鈥淚 love it. I love it. I go to kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2, grade 3, wherever they need help, I go.鈥
Mrs. Alvarez also said, 鈥淚 value every single kid, and I learn from them.鈥
The 91短视频app is an incredible learning community with special people who volunteer their time to our students. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, particularly Mrs. Alvarez!
